* Heidi R. Arboleda (Philippines)
Ms. Arboleda (arboleda.unescap@un.org) is Regional Adviser on National Accounts with the United Nations Commission for Asia and the Pacific. Previously, she was a lecturer at the Statistical Institute for Asia and the Pacific in Tokyo and Assistant Secretary General of the National Statistical Coordination Board in the Philippines.
* Barbara A. Bailar (USA)
Dr. Bailar (bailar-b@norcmail.uchicago.edu) is a Senior vice President at the National Opinion Research Center in Chicago, Illinois. Previously, she was the Executive Director of the American Statistical Association and the Associate Director for Statistical Standards and Methodology at the US Bureau of the Census. She is a Past President of the American Statistical Association and the International Association of Survey Statisticians, as well as a Past Vice-President of the ISI.
* Lynne Billard (Australia/USA)
Dr. Billard (lynne@stat.uga.edu) is University Professor and Professor of Statistics at the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia, USA. She is Past President of the American Statistical Association and Past President of the International Biometric Society. She has served on several committees of the ISI and on the ISI Council, and has chaired the ISI Committee on the Cooperation of Statistical Societies.
* Beverley Carlson (USA)
Ms. Carlson (bcarlson@eclac.cl) is Development Statistician with the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean. Previously, she was senior advisor, UNICEF Headquarters, inter-regional advisor in the UN Statistical Office, and Chief of General Surveys, International Statistical Programmes Center, US Bureau of the Census. She has been an active member of the ISI since 1981 and is the current chair of this committee.
* Lelia Boeri de Cervetto (Argentina)
Mrs. Cervetto (FAX: 54-1-775-2632, e-mail: notas@indec.mecon.ar) has been Director of Statistical Coordination at Argentina's Instituto Nacional de Estadistica y Censos (INDEC), including relations with international governmental and non-governmental organizations. She is editor of the series NOTAS SOBRE POLITICA ESTADISTICA EN EL MUNDO published by INDEC
* Nanjamma B. Chinnappa (India/Canada)
Mrs. Chinnappa (nach@blr.vsnl.net.in) is President of the International Association of Survey Statisticians (IASS) for 1997-1999. Previously, she was Director, Business Survey Methods Division at Statistics Canada, where she also headed the Agency's Employment Equity Committee. She has been an ISI member since 1982 and was the Program Chair for the IASS sessions at the 1993 ISI meetings.

Professor Lievesley (d.lievesley@unesco.org) is Director of the Institute of Statistics at UNESCO and formerly Director of the U.K. Data Archive at the University of Essex in the U.K. Previously, she was Director of the International Statistical Institute (ISI). She is Past President of the International Association of Official Statistics (IAOS) and President-designate of the Royal Statistical Society.
* Mary H. Regier (Lebanon/USA)
Dr. Regier (mhr@po.cwru.edu), who chaired this committee from 1995 to 1999, has served on the faculty of Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, since 1988. Previously, she was Professor of Statistics at the American University of Beirut in Lebanon. She has been an active member of the ISI since 1973 and served on a number of its committees and the ISI Council. She initiated the move to establish the International Association for Statistical Education (IASE) in 1991 and was a member of its Interim Executive Committee.
* Dennis J. Trewin (Australia)
Mr. Trewin (dennis.trewin@abs.gov.au) is the Deputy Australian Statistician at the Australian Bureau of Statistics. Previously, he held a similar position at Statistics New Zealand. He is President-elect of the ISI previously having been Vice-President, and President of the International Association of Survey Statisticians. He is also a past Editor of the International Statistical Review. He is a past President of the Statistical Society of Australia and chairs their accreditation Committee.
