The Development of Actuarial Education
In the 1980s, the Society of Actuaries commissioned the seminal textbook "Actuarial Mathematics" in order to put actuarial practice on a more modern and theoretically sound basis. The examination process was changed to reflect this development and has undergone several transformations over the last 20 years.
The speaker will discuss the textbook, the examination process, and course offerings in actuarial science at Case Western Reserve University.
